I like the message of empowerment behind this post, however I always have to challenge rote advice. Not everyone writes every day and not everyone will receive the kind of benefits you’ve received from writing every day. I’m glad that it’s been such a powerful experience for you, but I challenge anyone reading this post who is feeling bad because they don’t write every day. It’s okay not to write every day. Writing is about discipline, yes, but it’s also a very personal and individual process. Find what works for you. Maybe that’s writing every day. Maybe that’s writing once a week. The time or frequency or word count really doesn’t matter. It’s the process of learning and growing that matters.
