Why Should we spend time with ourselves?

I hope that you would agree that Life has it’s own delectable, impressionable, impactful, sweet recipes to offer, in the form of mom’s love and care; father’s support; sibling’s unique bond; bond of friendship, tickle of first crush; first love; freshness and authenticity of new relations; bond with your pet; a well deserved praise; comforting smile, even from a stranger; awness of nature’s blessings all around like wind blowing on our face, sun shining right on to you, a flower blooming, a bird chirping, tress swirling, muddy scent after rain, freshness of spring, colourful , dancing butterflies, hot beverage with loved ones on a winter evening; a trip with family, togetherness in festivities; a meaningful conversation; reconnecting with old friends or family; sight of your child enjoying the same sweetness of life.

Yet the simplest and sweetest of all recipes is, “ the sweetness of quality time with your own self ”

You must be wondering, What about that! However , in the present era, where information and knowledge can be accessed with just a click, we forgot to spend time with ourselves. These days, the moment you find anyone free, they run for grasping their gadgets. Knowledge and social media connection is fine but what is ticking away…..IS OUR LIFE…

Keeping this awareness in mind, let’s pledge to spend quality time with ourselves, snatch some quality time of the day with yourself, talking to yourself, journaling, sipping a beverage in your own company or with nature, just sitting by yourself or laying down and relaxing.

Start doing nothing for some time. Probably, our ancestors lived that way. We tend to underestimate the power of time spent this way. Usually, we tend to look out or search for solutions for our problems from people, books or internet. Although nobody understands our challenges or situation, better than us. You may be surprised by finding answers or solutions on certain aspects of life just by spending quality time with yourself. It will refresh you as well and give you inner peace. Definitely worth a trial!!!
