I have been on a spiritual journey for 16 years and it all started with my life falling apart. I am a suicide and depression survivor and am battling two medical conditions for the past 14 years.

I have had a metamorphosis of a butterfly but my transformation still continues. I guess transformation is a lifelong process as it is the process of our soul’s evolution.

I am not some spiritual guru but I share my experiences with people to help them on their journey of transformation and spiritual awakening.

I was talking to my friend today and shared my best practices with her and then I thought it would be a good idea to share it with others too. That thought inspired this blog.

Whatever I am sharing here is something that I have been practicing for my own spiritual growth.

Here are are some tips that will help you speed up your spiritual awakening process.

  1. Journal — Journaling is a great practice as it helps you write your negative self-talk on paper and release all the negative energy. Another advantage of journaling is that you also extract the wisdom of your subconscious mind on paper, which otherwise you will miss. I also have a gratitude journal that helps me to see all the great blessings and miracles that happen in my life each day, while I write the list of things I am grateful for every night. Journaling raises your vibration and connects you to God. It changes your thought patterns and helps you see and think clearly.
  2. Visit your past — We all do that, right? And we do that with sorrow and regret. Most of us humans love to relate to the sorrow of the past but that is not why or how you visit your past. You have to go back into your life and connect the dots to catapult yourself into an abundant and fulfilled future. Many things don’t make sense in the present but if you go back into your past, you will be able to solve the puzzle and vice versa. It requires deep introspection. Everything that puzzled me in the past makes so much sense now. If I am perplexed about my present, I visit my past to find answers. Nothing happens by chance in our life. We are born with the blueprint of our life. Whenever you’re confused, you have do go deep thinking and review everything in your life. You will find all the answers.
  3. Open your wounds — It takes a lot of courage to do this as hell breaks loose. Most of us bottle up our negative emotions and sorrow arising from painful situations in life and it is disastrous as it manifests in the form of diseases and chaos in our life. To heal your wound, you need to clean your wound and cleaning the wound is a painful process. You have to detoxify yourself from all the pain and to get rid of pain, you have to inflict some temporary pain on yourself. You will have to face all those events, darkness and pain. You will hurt and cry a lot but you will be able to release it forever. Make peace with all that happened, be grateful to God for the experience as it helped you grow, pray to him for the strength and courage to face it and release it forever. You will clear your being.
  4. Forgive yourself — We torture ourselves a lot by beating ourselves for our mistakes. I want to take the liberty of changing your perspective on mistakes. First thing, you need to review whether you actually made a mistake or not. How do you do it? A mistake is an action, activity or decision which is not favourable right? So go back in time and review that action, activity or decision. What you did may have not given you the expected outcome but rise above any kind of judgment. Then see where has that action, activity or decision brought you in life. Has it helped you progress in life in any way? Even though you did not get your expected outcome but is the existing outcome positive and impactful? If yes then you never made a mistake. Secondly, if you have made a mistake then you’ve learned a priceless lesson. You cannot progress in life without lessons. So if you avoid mistakes then you will not grow in your life. Mistakes and failures are essential for our evolution. But just make sure it’s only you who are paying for your mistakes, no one else. Last but not least, don’t go by other people’s opinions in your life. You decide whether you made a mistake or not, no one else. Forgive yourself and move on.
  5. Find the vision and purpose of your life — A life without a vision and purpose is a meaningless life and you will be stuck in a maze. Vision is something that you receive from God. I received the vision of my life from God. If you don’t have the vision of your life, pray to God for it. Present yourself to him to carry on his work. The purpose of your life is tied to your vision. You also need to do this exercise to find the purpose of your life as your work and purpose is related to your passions and the gifts you have. Write down your passions on a piece of paper and also make a list of skills and talents that come to you naturally. Your gifts surface up from time to time. All your gifts will be related to your passions. For example, I love to write and speak. It comes to me easily, I never learned it. I had a great passion to heal people and I got the gift of healing. I never learned it. I can heal by praying. This exercise will help you a lot. Don’t do anything in your life to please people as by doing that you will be doing a huge disservice to God. Use your gifts to enrich your soul and serve people.
  6. Meditate — Meditation is an essential practice to connect with yourself and God. Learn meditation from a spiritual teacher. Meditation frees you from your karmic circle and nourishes your soul.
  7. Work with a spiritual teacher or mentor — You need a teacher to guide you on your spiritual journey. It is said when the student is ready the teacher appears. I can testify to this fact. I didn't have to find my spiritual gurus or mentor, they all appeared in my life at the right time. All I did was to pray to God for direction and help.
  8. Operate on the frequency of love and gratitude — Love and gratitude are the frequency of God and you need to be on that frequency if you want to connect with God. Love people, be kind to them and serve them and see happiness, peace, and abundance show up in your life.
  9. Be committed to your vision in life — That is how you stay true to yourself and God. The path will not be easy. Everything fell apart in my life, I have gone through more challenges and pain in life than I could handle but I did not quit. After every big adversity, God has rewarded me and blessed me so that I could become a blessing to others.

People will try to derail you all the time because most of them live life on autopilot and confused. They try to impose their limitations on you and try to dim your lights. So don’t go by their opinions.

Work only to serve our Holy Father and care for what he thinks. And he thinks you are outstanding. Always remember ‘you are a Masterpiece as you are a piece of the Master.

I hope this helps you. Thank you for reading!
