I think about how Twitter has failed me…and it is my own damn fault. I follow something like 8000+ accounts. 8000. There is no way to follow that stream. So I made lists. Each of my lists (and I had four active ones when I was still actively using Twitter) has hundreds of accounts they track. Not usable. Again, my fault.

Erin you post is almost a call to arms for Twitter users to reboot themselves, not the other way around. Maybe we need to unfollow everyone and just start over. Who do we want to hear from, in what context (I love breaking news tweets), and when. Then rebuild ourselves from there.

Fundamentally Twitter hasn’t changed at all since the boom years. It was awesome then…so why can’t we reboot and get back to that?
