It’s Time to Design Emotionally Intelligent Machines
Sophie Kleber

AI proceeding with caution:

This is a no brainier, as humans have formed emotional bonds and are interactive with everything everywhere as a part of life. Our senses make this personal connection with people, other species, places and things naturally. Replacing what is natural that feeds our human need with the artificial can only lead to a deficit in the human experience and more isolation not the cure for it. We are by design social and have a need to connect with other humans. Humans need the human touch and interaction. The mind can only compensate temporarily with the artificial.

We can eat a wax apple, but it will not sustain us.
