NFL odds, lines, picks, best bets, and predictions for NFL week 4 season.
So far we are about a quarter of the way through the NFL season. Yes, you have the usual suspects starting to rise to the top of the league though there are a few surprises as well. Who would have thought Kansas City would be all alone in the basement of the AFC West while the Raiders and, checks notes, the Broncos are both undefeated at the top of the division. And over in the NFC, the NFC South looks to be shaping up to be a very interesting division as Carolina has shown some muscle on defense so far and a revitalized Sam Darnold is starting to look like an actual starting NFL quarterback. Funny what getting out of New York can do for a career. So let us get to it.
3 Games I like and one Uncle Mike sure bet.
Titans (-6 Moneyline-280) at Jets (+6 Moneyline+230) (44.5)
The Jets come into this week's matchup with a banged-up receiving core and rookie QB in Zack Wilson that has only thrown 2 TDs vs 7 interceptions, and an 0–3 start to the season so far. The Titans come in also with a banged-up receiving core (Julio Jone and AJ Brown are both ruled out before making the trip to New York, and a 2–1 record to start. The big difference here is the Titans still have Derrick Henry at RB and I don’t see the Jets’ young defense having an answer to stop him in this game. Look for a big day rushing from the bulldozer of Nashville in this game against a young Jets defense. I don’t see this game as being particularly close. Though it will be low scoring. The Titans will handle this game and go home at 3–1 on the season and the Jets will fall to 0–4 on the season. Titans will cover the spread in this game and win by more than 6 though take the under on the 44.5 total for this game.
Titans 24 Jets 14
Browns (-1 Moneyline -120) at Vikings (+1 Moneyline +100) (51.5)
The Vikings come in at 1–2 for the season and the Browns come in at 2–1, this game seems like a sure bet for most. If you look across the NFL landscape you’ll see all the expert pundits picking the Browns in this matchup. However, Kirk Cousins is putting together a decent season for the Vikings. He’s number 2 in the league in QBR and completing 74% of his passes so far and has already thrown for 918 yards over the first 3 games of the season. And even though Dalvin Cook is currently hobbled with an injury that didn’t stop the Vikings from running for over 100 against the Seahawks last week. On the other side of the field will be Baker Mayfield has thrown for 780 yards on the season though only has 2 touchdown passes so far and 2 interceptions. Looking deeper than the surface of the game and this one has all the makings of upset and I agree. Look for the Vikings to continue their winning streak and beat the Browns this week in Minnesota. And if you’ve ever been to Minnesota during a Vikings game you know how much the crowd can influence a game. Give me…….Vikings to cover and win the game straight up and I will also take the over of 51.5.
Vikings 28 Browns 24
Chiefs (-7 Moneyline-320) at Eagles (+7 Moneyline+250) (54.5)
What is wrong with the Chiefs? They sit in the basement of the AFC West at 1–2, They’ve lost to they’ve dropped two in a row against the Ravens and Chargers after beating the Browns in the season opener. Patrick Mahomes before this season was undefeated in September as a starter. Now over on the Eagles side………why even go to the Eagles side I can’t even bother coming up with anything useful as to why the Eagles may win this game or even cover the spread. THIS IS MY LOCK PICK OF THE WEEKEND. Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, and the rest of the Chiefs offense against an Eagles defense that has given up 69 first downs 31 of which are passing first downs. Mahomes will feast in this game and Chiefs nation will be able to feel a bit better about themselves. This game will not be close. Stick a fork in the Eagles on this one. Chiefs cover and do so before we even get to the 4th quarter of this game. I’ll also take the over of 54.5
Chiefs 38 Eagles 20
Bucs (-7 Moneyline -320) at Patriots (+7 Moneyline +250) (49.5)
How could anyone write about week 4 in the NFL without mentioning this game? Brady v Belicheck, Brady goes back home to the stadium where he dominated the majority of his NFL career. Equal parts beloved and hated in New England now this one will be special on Sunday night. All I’ve heard all week is Brady knows Bellicheck, Bellicheck knows Brady so well. So let us get into this huge showdown on Sunday night. When it comes to Gillette Stadium there is no doubt Brady dominates when playing there. He has 115 wins in that stadium a record for any QB in any single stadium. Brady only needs 68 yards on Sunday night to break Drew Brees's record of all-time passing yards. So Brady has the opportunity to break another record at a stadium where he holds so many. Brady will have to make history without his most trusted teammate as Gronk will not make the trip due to injury. However he will still have a plethora of weapons in Antonio Brown has been activated from the Covid list, Evans will still be running routes and Fournette will be in the backfield. Sounds like a lopsided win when you look at just this side of the ball. But lurking on the home sideline will be a mastermind of defense in Bellicheck. Bellicheck is well known for scheming and planning for the best of players and offenses when facing them. He’s well known for scheming a defense that will take away the other team's biggest weapon and forcing them into his will when defending. Brady should have no problem getting the career passing record before halftime of this game. The Bucs on defense only have 3 sacks on the season. That should more than double, facing a rookie QB in Mac Jones. Now all of this hype and stats for this game should point to the Bucs covering the spread in this game, but check out this nugget. Since 2000 this is only the 19th time the Patriots have been an underdog at Gillette Stadium. Of those 19 they’ve covered the spread 14 of those times. Well after this game it won’t be 15 times, Bucs win and cover the 7 in this one. You don’t get Brady fired up for a game, everyone knows that, and boy will he be fired up for this one. Take the under of 49.5
Bucs 31 Patriots 17
