Thought this was a good statement to throw around today. How many of us have said we would love to be able to do this or that and making it sound like its something that others can accomplish. Why can’t we? What makes a half ironman or marathon something that seems so unattainable and reserved for the elite? I am far from elite. Use to think marathons were for elite athletes. I now have three done and 17 half marathons. The difference is this:

Tired of hearing all these great things other people are accomplishing. I took that attitude in my professional life and it worked as well. I worked harder then people with more skill and a better background. I made it impossible for them to not hire me because they knew nobody else wanted the job as much and nobody would work as hard. Well I am taking the same focus with this journey. There are many possible ifs but the one “if” won’t be that I didn’t work hard enough or commit to the cause.
Today was a productive day, very good core yoga class and 9k run in the cold today. Made for some sore legs tonight on road to Bathurst but being sore is the new normal moving forward.
