Well to say I wanted to run 13k this morning in a snowstorm would be an obvious no. But discipline is required on this quest. I knew there would be hard days to say the least. The beauty of a day like today is the feeling of accomplishment when you manage to get through it. Today was hard on body and ego. Took a good fall going up gunningsville Blvd at km 5 and managed the remaining 8k with swelling. It was my own fault for wearing treadless shoes and trying to run hard up hill. There will be many bumps and bruises over the next eight months. The difficulty today will go a long way in preparing for the Hypothermic Half marathon on Feb 7. While it was only 13km, it felt like a lot more with poor footing, a challenging hill route and the blowing snow in our faces on way back.
I love the feeling that these challenging days bring. That is definitely a change that has come over me in the past few months. It’s a sign of getting stronger mentally and physically.
Now off to vin yin yoga. The hour and 15minutes will be a good combination of core and stretching. Will be ready for a nap by supper time haha.
Thanks for the read.
