Infinitley Available

St. Peter’s Basilica Nov 2013. Do you hear God whispering?

It’s hard to imagine having someone so significantly important take the time to be available to meet us. Much less wanting to get to know us at any given time and under any given circumstance.

I try to imagine getting ahold of this elusive person and being able to grab a moment of their time to have an opportunity to relate with them. The moment itself would be so built up in my head that it would be hard for me to actually be comfortable in my own skin.

I would probably overthink everything that I was going to say and be petrified of saying something unimportant that wouldn’t add any value to their life.

But what if this elite person really started taking an interest in me?

What if they really listened and started seeking out who I am and extended trust toward me and wanted me to become this very important person to someone else? Someone that I hadn’t considered before or even had known about. I believe this is the model God sets up for us.

To be available as He is to us.

You don’t have to climb holy mountains like Elijah. He is infinitely available right where you are. And the faintest whisper has the power to give us courage, hope, and purpose that is real. May we strive to be that available for someone else!
