There wasn’t always a need to blame. I haven’t looked into it very much yet for details of when and why, but it seems to me that say, 50 years ago there was a more-general acceptance of the idea that sometimes, stuff just happens. Maybe that kind of acceptance, and no longer having that need to place blame could relieve some of the anxiety. ????
