David Findlay

David Findlay, 69, born Nov 22, 1938, has been missing for nine years.

Daughter, Lynda Findlay tells us David was last seen on Cardonald Berryknowes rd, around 3pm on the 5th of May, 2008. He had left his Cardonald home to do some shopping at a local Morrisons.

Lynda mentions her father had early onset dementia and may have wandered off. It’s unknown what has become of Mr. Findlay. Another article states he exited the back of the store, where no cameras could capture his image. The following CCTV image shows David inside the Morrisons store.

The only major hazard for a man walking, possibly without the proper clarity to consider his surroundings, is River Clyde to the north.

City Surrounding Morrisons

Several articles, including one found on scotland.police.uk cite Mr Findlay’s last known location at Sauchiehall Street at West Nile Street.

We’ve mapped out one of the most plausible walking routes, considering roadways, and means of travel without ride. Lynda has stated David was a keen walker.

The entire distance is about 7km, following the thinner line.

Did David head south, and fall into the river? Lynda tells us the river was searched near the drydock, within 2 weeks, with no results. I wonder about the park, directly to the southeast. A place called Glasgow Green.

Glasgow Green

Did David wonder to the river, lost, or confused? Did he go there sight seeing, and slip in? There are several kilometers of untamed bank at Glasgow Green. Lynda tells us her father went there often. Searches were made in the area with dogs and helicopters, but to no avail. With such a vast city surrounding, it’s hard to imagine where a man could go without being noticed. Lynda is unsure if he was carrying identification, but believes he wasn’t.

You can aid in this quest by asking at local hospitals, shelters, or facilities, if they had seen a man by the name of David Findlay in the time frame of May 5th, 2008. Showing his image would be extremely helpful. Pass this article on to friends and family.
