Jon Savell Could you give an example for a more generic naming? I’m having some trouble imagining how that could look.
As I understood the article it was not about making the naming more specific, rather about making it more accurate.
I believe that Davids detailed description of how he tackled this naming challenge makes it seem more complicated then it was. He was unsatisfied with the naming his brain came up with, and ran a couple of searches in the thesaurus to help him find the right term.
As he said it should only take like 5 minutes to do so. I guess what I would take from this article is some inspiration for using a more structured approach when having naming issues. I’m quite sure that I’ve spent longer time racking my head over a good naming in similar situations.
