First, Mexico and U.S. are married to this problem, period. The demand sustains the need for supply. Since the 70’s people have tried to blow the whistle on the reality. Top DEA field officer wrote a book about the reality. Chasing these cartel leaders, finally about to execute years of work to only have D.C. pull the plug time and again. The why became apparent after time. Politicians weren’t waging a war on drugs, but are actually the gatekeepers of who succeed s in the trade and who doesn’t, for a price. The claim of a war on drugs a sham for the public, but better yet the perfect disguise for their corrupt endeavors. As we see know how gullible the public is, point and scream accusations of crimes at others is the perfect disguise for the ones you commit. Perfect. Why sneak, hide just scream in a different direction. Cartels to big pharma, who regulates what succeeds? Legalization is also a fraud at this point, it isn’t aimed at the addictive narcotics while pot is rolling along and nobodies suspicious? Legalization won’t stop addiction, but it will destroy the smoke screen provided by criminality. Put it in the day light to deal with more honestly. Why on Earth anybody would by a “war” on drugs is what’s happening is beyond me. What is condoned, accepted in any conversational war is absent. Where they don’t mind collateral damage in those wars is instead inflicted regularly on the innocent in a drug war with one major exception. There is not the real danger of shoot to kill the enemy in a drug war. Always the wiggle room provided for escape, avoidance. With all the death and Carnage visited on the innocent accepted now, it is long overdue to make the war on drugs real. Seek and destroy the enemy , but we can’t make that hard chose, decide to make that the most dangerous trade for them to push. Like dictators, like politicians there are always unspoken rules, hands off what is acceptable for the rest of us to live under. We are the reason the corrupt prosper, where they are cruel and brutal, we fail to be harsh and severe. It should become the most dangerous for them to participate in perpetrating on the public. If there is never to be a perfect option, if you can accept that reality, which imperfection should we chose? The public live in fear and run for their lives or those in the drug trade to live in fear. When you’re ready to answer that question, you are ready for the real war on drigs
