Today I watched an episode of SpongeBob, and I learned a valuable lesson from it that is similar to the placebo effect or fake it till you make it. In this episode, Squidward told SpongeBob that laughing too much he would lose his laugh. And sure enough this happened to SpongeBob.

However, this was not actually true. Squidward revealed to SpongeBob that he had made this up. This meant SpongeBob had never lost his laugh and it was just in his head the whole time.

Fully believing something to be true, actually makes it come true. SpongeBob believed he lost his laugh, and then he believed that he would have it back. Both were true. When you fully believe something it becomes true for you.

The old saying, “Fake it till you make it” is relevant to this. What you fake being — what you believe you are — you eventually will make it to that spot. This is why it is so important to believe in yourself and believe in your dreams.
