Summer

Summer during college is 3 opportunities to find what you are passionate about, or rule out 3 choices. But it is also a major time to improve. Something I have been thinking a lot about recently is, what are skills that impact every career. These are skills you can work to develop and no matter where you end up they will have a benefit.

In my opinion, this is the most important thing you can spend your time on in the summer learning. Skills that fall under this category are:

• Communication
• Sales
• Leadership
• Coding
• Analytical

This does not hit all of the major skills, but these are areas I want to see myself improve in this summer. All of these skills can be applied to any career. Having strong communication skills, or leadership qualities will always benefit you.

Whether or not you are able to find the perfect fit in 3 summers with internships does not matter as you will eventually find your passion/calling. What is important is that you work on building the skills that will be essential when you get there.
