Thank you for sharing! I’m glad to hear you’ve found your way back. Now that you know what burnout feels like, you’ll be able to sense it earlier and protect yourself.
I’ve found that it hard to accept when burnout starts happening to me, now. I think about how much worse my situation was the first time, how much happier I am now, how much more I like my job, etc. I have to remind myself that while yes, I could tolerate more — it’s not a matter of ability or strength — I choose not to put myself in that place again.
