MFU Newsletter 9/9/18

We at #MetsFansUnited have heard the skepticism. We’ve heard the doubt. We know we’re up against a monster.
But we also understand that this is all a natural part of the process of making a significant change in an arena where we would be considered the ultimate underdogs.
We’re Mets fans. We dig underdogs.
There will always be doubters. There will always be a faction of fans who are content with the status quo and are averse to rocking the boat.
We’re happy to be the boat-rockers. All we need is your support.
No matter what your opinion is of the situation, one thing we can all agree upon is the fact that, like the sun rising and setting each day, the New York Mets will continue to conduct business to the beat of their own, out of tune, drum.
There will never be a shortage of shenanigans for #MetsFansUnited to harp upon as long as things continue this way.
Every week, it seems like there’s something new that makes the entire fanbase shake their collective heads in bewilderment.
That basic tenet of building a successful organization, in any walk of life, is to put forth a top-notch level of product. It feels like, somewhere along the way (circa 2002), that priority took a back seat to a different, more self-destructive thought process.
It became more about dollars and cents than about wins and losses.
We at #MetsFansUnited are fully aware of the deadly incline that leads to the top of this mountain. But pressure busts pipes, my friends.
If we put enough pressure on ownership to conduct business like nearly every other team in MLB conducts business, progress can be made.
We want the New York Mets to set the bar high, not just halfway up. Make contention the perennial goal. Do things the right way. Is that really too much to ask?
We know what you’re doing, and we’re not going to stand for it much longer. Revolutions have been started with much less of a spark than a decade-long non-commitment to winning baseball games.

Until next time,
