On Vacation

Starting Tuesday, I gave 15 days to myself this summer to do nothing. No studying, no starting new projects, no diet… Nothing!

The main event starts tomorrow at Elafonisos (Yes the place on the back). The computer-free week of the year I guess.

This week I had some work on various stuff preparing the coming week but for the most part I succeeded on having vacation time.

Most of the time however was unconsciously spent with people I rarely see nowadays.

My best friend is in Greece for the next month as he is every summer. Some other guys, I literally see them once a year. I also spent time with a friend who will go abroad for two years for her Master. In other news, some days ago I learned that another person close to me will probably leave to work abroad next month. Finally, today I had coffee with an old friend I have not seen in 4 years.

In a week I realised that there are people that I care about that I may not see again for years or ever.

I suppose this realisation happens at some point to everyone but it was weird for me. To be fair, people fading in the distance was already happening long ago but I was too distracted and full to see it. So I got the most out of these moments and freaked some of those people out with my unexpected excitement (I tend to get huggy).

Maybe I am late to the game but now I know how to spent my next vacation days.
