Hi Charlie! This is a great post and like everyone mentioned in the previous comments, I really loved how the way you are using examples to support your arguments and how constructive your feedback is. 
It pains me to see so many little things (which may have been trivial issues to solve if they have studied other games) to burden the game and subtract a certain level of immersion from the whole experience. 
I also found the new planet scanning UI implementation to be very poor. It’s impressive to see at first, but frustrating when after a while you have to wait 15–30 secs between intervals, just to watch the zoom in/zoom out effects before you can actually click a button (to usually receive a poor reward!).
Let’s hope they’re listening to their fans’ :)
