Steve Jobs did some wonderful things, no doubt. However, the idea of him being a genius is an interesting take on some of the things that he said during his lifetime.

Interesting here is a synonym for wrong

In one specific interview, he speaks of the difference between the worst and best cab drivers and hardware, and that there were limits to the range.

He then launches his 100x idea:

… the difference between the average software developer and the best is 50:1; Maybe even 100:1

He is using made-up numbers for the comparison here, leading me to assume he is reaching for credibility.

Why would you mention 100:1 without research to justify the claim?

The guy has been dead for ten years. Leave off him

Labeling developers is just wrong

Steve Jobs set a terrible precedent that many have chosen to follow. Let me give you an example.

At my place, this Emoji is one of the favorites when something good is written in a Slack chat. They aren’t just agreeing 100%, as they also write 100x.
