Mike Pence’s dinner rule would stop female journalists from doing their jobs
Helen Joyce

Apart from the exclusionary aspect of Pence’s “policies” about avoiding eating and drinking in the sole company of a woman, it seems to me this reveals a much bigger issue that I’m surprised you didn’t mention: whither self control?

Apparently our Vice President either lacks the moral fortitude to resist whatever temptations he feels he might be exposed to by having a drink or a meal with a woman; or his wife doesn’t trust him and so he feels the need to avoid any situations which might give her cause to doubt him.

Either way it’s a ludicrously sad commentary on someone who is supposed to be a leader, and a pious one at that.
