I recommend you check out the NiFi Tool Kit and try out the command line interface (CLI.sh), which will let you export, update, delete, change, add and list all the important features of NiFi. In the following example, I use DevOps techniques to export parameters from one server (on 1.17) and migrate to 1.18 on another.
