THERE IS NO TRY:
Every Minute Counts. ‘Meat Space’ production can tolerate error, to a degree. Error allows for correction, an opportunity for improvement. An opportunity to show the scars of our labor. But this opportunity has a cost: our time. We must avoid wasting this most precious resource. We must aim to do the work correctly the first time.
The computer does not afford the same flexibility. Error is forbidden. Binary means do, or do not. There is no try. The most advanced manufacturing facilities on the planet produce a success rate of 99.99966%, or Six Sigma. The Rocket Factory will meet the highest possible quality control ever conceived — SEVEN SIGMA.
Seven Perfect Rockets are to be assembled and minted today as a final systems check before the Rocket Assembly Area (RAA) is opened. These Rockets are among the rarest, and most unique in the Rocket Factory inventory. The seven Rockets are each one-of-a-kind. They feature one-of-one Rockets, one-of-a-kind Stickers, and one-of-a-kind combinations of Branding and Stickers. This also includes the forbidden one-of-one Purple Rocket — the singular Rocket which lacks any Branding, pristine in its heresy.
The seven Rockets will be minted with token IDs 0–6, and will be sealed in the Rocket Factory Hangar until a later date. We will tell their stories in the coming weeks.
It Won’t Fail Because Of Me is a philosophy used in the Space Program to emphasize the importance of everyone’s role in the system. When we each commit to fulfilling our own duty, we minimize the chance of failure. We’re not certifying success, we’re just saying that the mission won’t fail because of my small part of this larger system. Science is not a noun, it is a verb. As we expand the functionality of the Rocket Factory, all updates will be published here on Medium. New functionality always respects existing structure and builds on it. All good science is peer reviewed. That means YOU, our community across all our social channels.
WEEK 1 — UPDATES:
THE INVENTORY VAULT:
The Rocket Factory Claimed 30% of the 3,000 available Component NFTs at the project Liftoff. Much of this inventory has been allocated to our team and partners who helped bring this project to life. The Rocket Factory Vault still holds half of that holdback and has zero plans to release it on the open market.
By holding these Components, we are showing our commitment to this project and keeping our interests aligned along the way. We still have skin in the game. When sales occur out of the Vault, they will be done privately to strategic long term holders, with the intention of amplifying and expanding the project’s reach in the traditional art world and the crypto space. We understand and respect the importance of market stability to our community.
Here is what we plan to do with the surplus inventory:
The main allocation of the holdback already went to people who helped put this project together and who continue to build the project along the way. This includes the studio team, advisory team, development team, and other strategic supporters. We have already allocated a majority of these Components and are in the process of finishing up.
Auctions will be held in the future, including some of the seven Rockets that were minted from the Vault Inventory.
We want to reward our community for making the Rocket Factory possible. This includes community giveaways, like the #dreamrocket campaign launched on Friday (August 6, 2021), as well as other potential benefits that Astronauts will receive by holding Rockets. We are also working on plans to strategically use the holdback in future phases of the Rocket Factory. We are just getting started with building this community, and we are already working hard on the next Phase. This is the tip of the iceberg.
The Marketplace will grow and update with the Rocket Factory.
This week we updated the Hangar. It now tracks Active Sales and Auction listings, as well as Offers and Bids you’ve made and received. If you win an Auction, or your offer is accepted, you will still need to go and Claim the part before it appears in your Hangar. Please note anything you have listed for Sale or Auction will not be able to be used to Assemble a Rocket while it is listed for Sale or Auction. You must take it off Sale or wait till the Auction ends if you want to use that Component for Assembly.
REMINDER — The Rocket assembly process cannot be undone. Component NFTs are burned when a Completed Rocket NFT is minted. There is no going back. The Rocket is permanent. To learn more read ‘Some Assembly Required’.
The Marketplace also has added filters now so you can easily see floor prices and what’s at the top.
We welcome feedback on how we can continue to make our Marketplace the best, send your requests and comments to email@example.com.
We will continue to build on these functions and add more along the way.
This is just PHASE 1 of the project, we have much more in-store.
WARNING — Beware of Scammers. If you are purchasing Components or Completed Rockets from outside our Marketplace, make sure they are from the verified blue check account on Opensea.
