Praxis Application: Work Reflection
I have been working at Togo’s for a little over two years now. I am known as a sandwich maker but I do much more than that. Depending on my shift I will make sandwiches; be a cashier; sweep, mop and vacuum the floors; check the lobby by wiping down tables and making sure everything in the lobby stays clean and stocked with a variety of items. I’ve cleaned the bathrooms; washed and put away dishes; restocked hot, cold and dry items like food or bags and napkins.
I feel like my personality has meshed well with this job. I’ve been told by a few people that I have a personality that is enjoyable to talk to, whatever that means. I think I do a pretty good job when it comes to customer service although I’m not perfect. I have been known to have the skill of being able to diffuse undesirably tense situations, which comes in handy in this line of work, although it doesn’t always work.
The greatest lessoned I’ve learned in working at Togo’s is that even if you are one hundred percent correct, there are times that you should just agree with someone else in order to stop a situation from spiraling out of control.
And that’s a little bit of my experience in working at Togo’s.
