Day 66 of #The100DayProject — The Mind’s Sky

There are people in this world who lie to other people out of ‘perceived kindness’. They perceive that the person who they’re lying to is not in a position to be able to handle the truth.

The reality, in most cases, is that truth is the highest order of kindness. Being truthful to someone is a show of respect for their intelligence, strength and an offering of faith in the person’s resilience.

In effect, when we’re lying, we’re not doing it because we fear for the other person. We do it because we fear for ourselves.
