Bisquick is a brand of ready-made pancake mixes that make breakfast a lot easier. Just add the wet materials you want to the mix and bake as you normally bake a cake.
But with the ease of baking comes an overwhelming number of recipes. It becomes a challenge to find the perfect recipe for your favorite cake.
I myself faced the same dilemma. It’s not so easy to find a recipe you like, let alone one that works. That’s why I’ve prepared a little guide to teach you how to make banana pancakes with Bisquick. See for yourself.
Make Bisquick mix at home:
Don’t you have any mix? Don’t worry about it. You can make your own Bisquick mix with a simple recipe. All you need is:
All-purpose flour 1 cup.
butter or vegetable fat 1 tablespoon.
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder.
¼ Teaspoon of salt.
Method:
Sieve the dry materials into a clean bowl and mix until blended. Add the butter or vegetable fat and stir again.
You can also simply tip all the materials into a food processor. Set your food processor to “Pulse” and mix until it has the same texture as cornmeal.
Pour the contents into an airtight container and cool it down. You can keep your homemade pancake mix in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Note: Use vegetable cooking fat.
Banana and strawberry pancakes
Finally, something for the kids. If your children have a knack for bananas and strawberries, why not put them all together! Here is a simple strawberry pancake recipe.
Materials:
Two cups of Bisquick mix.
½ Mug of chopped strawberries.
¼ Mug of mashed bananas.
1 cup of milk.
2 eggs.
method:
Mix bisquick, milk and eggs in a large bowl. Keep stirring until the lumps start to disappear. Then add the crushed bananas (you can crush them with a fork). You can also add small chopped strawberries to the dough. But make sure that they are not too thick or bulky. Cut or dice the strawberries before you put them into the dough.
Allow your pot to preheat for a few minutes on a medium to low heat. Next, pour about a quarter cup of the dough onto the pot. Pour the dough into the pot from the middle of the pot and not from the sides.
Continue to bake the pancake until bubbles form or the sides start to brown. Then turn over, bake the other side and serve. You can serve with maple syrup, strawberry syrup, sliced bananas and strawberries. Try to use sweet strawberries instead of the sour ones. They will greatly enrich the taste.
Vegan banana pancake recipe:
Tired of every recipe on the net with eggs and milk? Try this recipe for vegan banana pancakes with Bisquick mix. If you are using a homemade mix, make sure you use vegetable fat or another vegan equivalent to butter.
Materials:
2 cups of homemade vegan bisque mix.
2 teaspoons baking powder.
1 teaspoon vanilla.
2 tablespoons sugar.
1 ½ mug of non-dairy milk.
2 ripe bananas.
For special peanut butter syrup:
¼ cup of peanut butter. ¼ cup of peanut butter.
½ Mug of pancake syrup: ½ Mug of pancake syrup.
method:
Place all dry materials in a large bowl and mix until well mixed. Then add the milk and fruit pulp and keep stirring until the lumps disappear. Alternatively, you can use a simple food processor to do the job.
You can add more milk if you prefer a thinner pound. With thinner pounds, you can get lighter pancakes that are not too thick.
Preheat your pan or grill pan to medium heat and brush it with baking spray or vegan butter.
Now pour about ¼ cup of pancake batter into the middle of the pan. Make sure that you swing the pot around so that the batter can spread out. Bake until bubbles start to form, then turn the pot over and wait until the pancake turns a golden brown colour.
And that’s it! You can make a special peanut butter syrup that you can use instead of traditional syrups. Simply mix the pancake syrup and peanut butter together and pour the syrup over your pancakes. You can also dilute the mixture with some milk. Or you can use regular maple syrup.
