Providing products and services isn’t the only thing you’ll be selling. You also need to learn how to sell yourself as well. That is to say, you need to provide customers with quality assistance so they can have a better understanding of you, your products, and your business as a whole. Today, we will go over some strategies to help sell you and your company.

1. Know the Three Basic Sales Tasks

The Three basic sales task are Order-getting, Order-taking, and Supporting. Order-getting is when you seek out possible buyers and introduce them to your business with well thought presentations. Order Getters prioritize in introducing consumers to a product and explaining what it can do for them. Order-taking is when you work with established customers and maintain relationships with them. Order Takers generally act as liaisons between the company and customers and will have jobs such as placing orders or walking customers through any problems they may have. Supporters, on the other hand, help the salespeople who focus on orders. A Supporter’s job can include explaining advantages of a purchased product or solving problems after a purchase.

2. Have Great Customer Service

Customer Service is a big part of helping a customer after they make a purchase. No mater what business you run, the customer will expect everything to be working well and when it doesn’t they expect someone to be there when they need assistance. People tend to remember negative experiences more than positive ones, so it’s important to have customer service representatives ready to help customers should a problem arise. However, sometimes customers don’t bother to call and will voice complaints without asking for help, so it’s a good idea to check social media for any complaints and try how their problem happened and how to solve it.

3. Prospecting and Presentation

Prospecting is narrowing down and following leads in the target market to identify potential customers. Once you find your target customer, you now need to preplan and make your sales call and presentation, and then close the sale. Afterwards you now have to follow up with a way to establish or retain a relationship with the consumer. When presenting, you need to think of how often you’ll want to have contact with customers. This can range anywhere from weekly or even yearly until the customer is satisfied. This will depend on the firm and their individual approaches.

Recap

All in all, the main thing when it comes to selling yourself is to make sure the customer is not only satisfied, but also engaged with. If you can ensure that you prepare to and keep relationships with your customers, then your business will thrive.
