Geico’s new car insurance commercial gives viewers a different way to think about getting their insurance. Their goal in this ad was to target the lower class workers to buy their car insurance instead of everybody elses to save money. This ad catches our attention showing emotion by wanting to buy that dream car that you always wanted, they use this by using placement and having the car as the end game result by switching to them. They also use white space to show the boldness of the ad and they keep it very open and not cluttered like most ad’s. Geico’s USP on this ad is to switch to them and get what you love and seem like you get a good deal on it. Which connects to what we learned recently in our ad unit it which is the need to achieve.
The whole point of the ad is to switch to Geico and choose them over all the other car insurance companies because you will get the best deal if you do. It is based off the need to achieve to make you feel like you are getting the best bang for your buck and fill yourself with emotion by being satisfied with them. It is obvious that humans want to save the most in every way possible to get the most back from what they spend. Geico promotes their brand as a company you can trust and get help from if you need it. In the ad they show that they are a true companion and help for the customer by stating,”That would help make the things you love that much easier to get”, they want you to achieve your goals in life and they will help you by saving money.
The best demographic for this ad would be middle class parents wanting to achieve social output with having a nice car. Hard working middle class parents do not have time to plan out the dream cars they want and want to start saving for one, but Geico can save you money to get what you deserve. This ad perfectly targets this target audience by ensuring that you will save money over time and get that car you always wanted.
All In all, this ad empowers us to want to switch our car insurance to Geico to get that savings deal we want and get our dream car we always wanted. Not only that, it also shows that it wants to bring families together and enjoy those moments with our new toy to make those memories last.
