This seems pretty reasonable to me. I take this as a plea for anyone making an argument to take the time (1) to recognize that things usually are more complicated than they appear, (2) to define your terms more carefully, (3) to use language with as much precision as you can muster, and (4) to be very very reluctant when it comes to describing another person’s motives.
