Packing, in 3 pictures
The second most common question I get about the trip is: What/how much are you packing? I’m by no means an expert and there is a plethora of info on this on the internet, but I will gladly and arrogantly add another short page to the already congested Information Superhighway. Because…well, This is MY backpack, there are many like it, but this one is mine. My backpack is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. etc etc
To start off, I’m carrying a 36L Osprey Stratos. I plan to leave some space for things I pick up along the way. I plan to do laundry every other day in the shower or sink.
Spread out:
An organized view of almost everything I’m bringing (I realized after taking this picture, I forgot to put in the sleep mask, earplugs, and sandals, all must-haves for hostels)

4 shirts, 4 underwear, 4 socks, 2 pants, 1 shorts, 1 down vest, 1 jacket, and 1 PJ pants cuz it’s my fluffywuffy comfort indulgence.
The computer was a big debate, I decided to bring it so I can practice coding once in a while and write these blog posts more easily. Go pro was also on the cutting board, but I like that I can bring it underwater with me.
I got a silk sleeping bag liner for the cold nights, train nights, or questionable cleanliness nights. Overkill? We’ll see.
Organized together:

Those squeeze/roll vacuum bags for clothes are incredible. So are mesh packing cubes for big items, and little tupperware boxes for small trinkets. Having one set of clothes always on your body actually saves a bit of space too!
Packed up:

Ready to hit the road!
