I’m going to spoil you a bit for this review. Sorry :(….

So, I watched one episode of the new show Riverdale. Firstly, its story revolves around the well-known comic stories Archie Comics and its hometown which is Riverdale, however, it’s a bit more of a drama and thriller because of the mystery that is going on. Also, they made it more modern and more for adults than for children and pre-teens. Because of the words that they use or the plot that they use and the scene are a bit more for adults.

My opinion about the story is that…. It’s good that they made it a bit more modern, however, they make look like teens now are stupid and stuck-up. It just made it a little cliche about life. But, I understand that they are still basing it up to the comic book.

Now, the characters…. First up, we’ve got Archie Andrews. Okay, I’m gonna be honest with you, Archie here, is so hot. To the point that he is not the original Archie, the nice, boy-next-door type. Archie here is a bit of a ladies man. In the summer, he becomes hot and buff that even teachers fall for him. My concern is Archie in the comics is not like that. He was more of the guy that you will like even though he’s a bit thin. I’m just quite of disappointed with this character. They should’ve made him more Archie than the modern not-hot-to-hot- kind of guy.

Next is Betty Cooper. I don’t have a problem with her. She is just the typical blonde nice girl, that is so perfect. Since she is so nice, she just likes to forgive and forget. But, her niceness isn’t deserved by Archie. She is so nice that Archie gets a way with everything, even though he breaks her heart. By the way, she is so in-love with Archie. Also, her mom is such a bitch to her. She deserves to do what she wants to do.

Veronica Lodge was the rich brat back in New York. When she moved to Riverdale, she made a pact with herself that she will take the opportunity to be a better version of herself. She is typical strong, out-spoken brunette, who thinks she will be the talk of the school on her first because of what happened to her in New York. She plays with fire with Cheryl. She is much more bitchier than Cheryl but, in a good way. Her first friend was Betty and again, attracted to Archie.

She attended her first dance with Betty and Archie. At the after-party, she screwed her friendship with Betty. Poor Betty. But, Betty forgave her. (oooppss… spoiler)

Jughead Jones, he narrates the story because its his novel. He writes about what is happening in Riverdale. He is a very mysterious character cause he only narrates the story. Not a single fact or scene is about him. It’s literally revolts around Archie, Betty and Veronica. He is not mentioned in the story like the 3 characters, yet, he is a main character.

It’s weird that Ms Grundy here is a young woman, however, in the comics, she is an old lady. Also, she is a big part in the story because she is something in this story.

Cheryl Blossom is the mean girl in this show. She is a so called victim. Everybody wants to know what happened last Fourth of July with her brother. She hates Veronica and Betty. But, she hates Betty more than Veronica. She thinks Betty is fat and a loser. Betty has a big past with her.

So, that is all the characters you need to look-out for in this TV show. I do recommend for you to watch it if you like mystery and thriller and if you are a big fan of the Archie Comics. Let me know what you think about the series.

Love Always,

Haven Lennon ❤
