What is This “Engineering Economics” That You Speak of?
If you asked me what I thought engineering economics was last semester, all I would have told you was that it was a class I had to take next semester in my junior year. I had no clue what it was about and what I would do in that class. Sounded very engineery and very business like. Kinda like a start-your-own-business with an engineering degree. But now that I’m actually in it and have went through my first full week of attending the class, I can confirm that this class was not what I expected. It’s math oriented but my professor, Dr. Ferrar, makes it so much more. He brings life to this boring-sounding class and makes it interesting. He draws the class in to participate with each other. He doesn’t just teach to an unwilling class, he makes the unwilling class see how fun it is to actually learn. That’s what sets this class apart from all the other classes I have taken so far at Temple University. I hope the professors at Temple University take a page out of his book. He knows what he’s doing!
