- Plan the workshop with varied activities and regular breaks.
- Set-up the Miro board in advance with all the components that participants need for the activities (e.g. Sticky Notes in bulks).
- Limit the number of attendees to as many you can see on the screen at once.
- Use a practice board with an icebreaker activity, in advance to get participants familiar with the tool and avoid surprises (e.g. no access).
- Use Frames for the different activities to navigate easier through the workshop.
- Lock design/placeholder components to avoid participants accidentally moving the wrong items (e.g. frames, text, shapes).
- Set your start view to make sure everyone is looking at the right part of the board at the beginning of the workshop.
- Ask everyone to turn their camera on and use gallery view in your chosen video-communication service.
- Avoid sharing your screen as much as possible: instead, participants can have the video call and the Miro board on either separate monitors or desktops.
- Bring everyone to your view before every activity and confirm if they are looking at the right Frame.
