We all pick our battles, but sometimes we pick too many. And the ones we pick can be gargantuan distractions from what is most important.
Sometimes we find ourselves delusional and unaware that some things are not worth fighting for. What we decide is worth fighting for better be so important that we are willing to risk everything for it.
When you are sizing up the battle before you it is best to be honest with yourself. You need to discover what type of person you are. Because there are those who live in a small world and those who have a greater vision in mind. Life in a small world keeps you on edge. You don’t trust anyone. You feel like you need to fight for what little ground you have. In other words, you will never have authentic relationships because your world is so small there is only enough room for you to be on top.
Then there are those of us who get it. They realize some things are not worth fighting for. There are distractions from the big picture. There are situations and people that make you lose vision. It’s easy to get sucked into the small world of someone else.
But your heart won’t be in a fight you know isn’t necessary. It is pretty easy to catch on to people’s motives and when you do it jerks you back to reality.
There are a lot of battles to be fought in our lives. Think of the big picture when you choose your hill to fight on.
