I’m one of those lucky people who knows Laura.
Laura is the type of person that when you run into her, make a ridiculous joke, and go on with your day, you walk away with a smile.
My wife and I consider it an honor to know her. The community that she is a part of is fortunate to know her.
Thanks to her strength and determination to live a healthier life more people will know her and draw strength from her experience. There are a lot of things around us that are reminders of how imperfect we are. We are all keenly aware we have faults. There are things we don’t like about ourselves.
But, sometimes we need a reminder that we can aspire to do something great. We need tangible manifestations of hope to push us to make healthier decisions for our lives.
We need a good Chuck Norris roundhouse kick in the pants.
I’ve only known Laura for a few years. We are part of the same faith community church together and I almost always run into her at the smoothie & juice bar at Elwood Thompson’s, a local Richmond grocery store. In the past few years I have been inspired and challenged by what she has done. And it is thanks to her example that many more may find the courage and determination to make a life altering change.
For her it was about eating healthy and getting active.
Or it could be something else.
Whatever it is, I hope watching and hearing her story will challenge you, encourage you, and act as a catalyst for you to take a step toward a better, healthier future.
