A baby problem in this writing: It is not correct. Adam Smith, a liberal, designed a system to combat the aristocracy of right wing, he called it market capitalism. He said it must have strong regulation via a strong government. Progressive taxation. Exactly what Democrats have valued. Capitalism is not the problem. People’s greed is the problem. Socialism is a problem, whether it comes with a democratic election or a monarch, it tends to end in totalitarianism. Socialism defined, is government ownership of the source of production. The state owns the oil production, an airline, the bank, a hospital, etc. This is why Europe can offer some of the social services at rates lower than US, they own the source of production. Bernie is wrong. His followers are now wrong. And now we have a very toxic social political milieu, fostering a rise in nationalism, very dangerous.
