I’d suggest, if you’re open to it, looking for remote jobs along with jobs in your area. I just got another one, and it opens up more possibilities and possibly more pay depending on your area. I just lookup “remote XYZ” with whatever skill I’m searching on.
I should have just sucked it up and looked for another job while continuing to work under the asshole I was working under, but I got fed up and quit, and it took me about 2.5 months to get another job. The market’s not as good as it once was, but I don’t think it’s as bad as it was back then.
One strange phenomenon I’m running into is their “need” for “10x” programmers. I see companies that I flew out to 3 months ago still advertising the same job openings after they “went with another candidate”. We’re such a stupid, deluded, fad following industry.
They’d probably do better if they’d quit abusing people during their interview processes and then acting as though there’s no “talent” out there.
Good luck!
