I’m not making the claim that you should protest anything, rather that if you think feminism is about equality and protest only for issues that affect women negatively, ignoring those that benefit them, then this is a hypocritical stance.
The reality is that both genders have problems. Some of these are universal, yet tend to be lumped into gendered complaints by people who refuse to see that the problems are universal. Some of these problems actually are gendered, but both genders have their own set of gendered problems. I just want to see people get down off their “i’m being oppressed” pedestals and acknowledge that everyone has problems.
