It’s not a question of whether someone would be willing to do the same thing to provide for their families. It’s a question of whether that’s enough of a reason for our society to abdicate laws regulating that behavior. I might not necessarily morally condemn someone who broke into my house and stole my things to sell to provide for their family, but i’m still going to do everything possible to stop them from doing it.
(Much akin to them loving every individual aspect of ACA, but claiming to hate it in total.)
Dunno who you’ve been talking to, but conservatives definitely don’t love every aspect of the ACA. In any event, even if they did, surely you understand that something can be more than the sum of its parts, that someone may think individual aspects are acceptable but still not be in favor of the entirety of it when everything is lumped together in an over complicated and unworkable mess.
