That’s valid, there is no denying the enormous influence that black originated musical styles have had on a wide variety of modern music. Even modern heavy metal owes a great deal to the Blues musicians.
However, i’m curious about modern examples. No one can deny the fact that during the mentioned time period, racism was widespread and systemic in the US, but i believe that neither of those are currently true, nor have they been for decades. Yet, i constantly hear about this kind of thing as an ongoing concern, as if black contributions to music and entertainment are continuing to be unappreciated. I can’t see how anyone paying attention would come to that conclusion.
