Breasts are one of the most pronounced symbols of femininity. A Beautiful Breast comes in all shapes and sizes. The answer to the question of which breasts are the most beautiful simply does not exist. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a lot depends on how the person feels about their own breasts. Of course, it is also important to mention that one type of breast can fit one body type perfectly, while on another body they may look too big or too small. It is a general misconception that larger boobs are more beautiful. This is evident by the fact that breast reduction surgery is one of the most common plastic surgeries for women.

That being said, thanks to technology and extensive research conducted between all sexes, it is possible to determine at least approximately which characteristics are considered beautiful when it comes to the female chest.

Furthermore, when we talk about breasts, it’s important to acknowledge that we are also talking about the nipple, including; its size, position, role, and ability to completely change and improve the breast appearance.

But let’s start with the boobs themselves!

  • What shapes them?
  • What is the anatomy of the tissue?
  • How external factors affect them
  • As well as, how and to what extent can they be kept beautiful.

Are only BIG Breasts Beautiful?

One of the biggest misconceptions about boobs is that only large breasts are beautiful. Throughout history, the idea of what beautiful boobs look like has changed. As we enter the digital age, the ideals of beauty change frequently, almost every few years. Trends die and then come back.

In the beginning, breasts were a sign of fertility. This is noticeable especially on statues from the Paleolithic and Neolithic period where the depiction of breasts were very large. Egyptians didn’t care about the size too much. While Ancient Greeks and Indian dynasties were all about shapes and proportions.

1960 was the year of the first breast augmentation. That operation changed the world, and the trend of breast augmentation reached its peak in the 1980s! The boobs were getting bigger. This was evident in Baywatch-type TV series whose protagonists had much bigger boobs than any seen before. Today, the trend of large breasts has “weakened” a bit, and there is more and more talk about shape, harmony and balance.

Plastic and cosmetic surgery, as well as non-invasive methods and the development of technology, have completely transformed the showbusiness industry and our lives. But there was one question to which there is virtually no answer.

What Types of Breasts are there?

Breasts can be large, small, medium in size, different shapes, weights, distances, forms, and when we add the size, colour, and position of the nipple, it is clear that it is not a simple task to classify breasts into certain categories!

There are hundreds of sources that divide breasts into 10,15,20 types, but they all have certain breast types in common. Each type has certain characteristics that determine them, so breasts can usually be:

  • Asymmetric — They differ from each other in size, shape, form, or position.
  • East-West — The nipples are laid in opposite directions, ie each “points” to its side.
  • Tear Drop Shaped — Characterized by a narrower upper part and a wider lower part.
  • Round — Circular shape in all areas.
  • Separated — A case in which the breasts are separated from each other.
  • Droopy — Boobs that sit lowered due to reduced skin elasticity.
  • Athletic — Usually, wider and smaller boobs with less breast tissue.
  • Close — As the name suggests, boobs naturally sit close together.
  • Tuberous — Refers to boobs that have a more pronounced and sharper “pointy” form with a narrower base and less tissue.
  • Slender — Longer, often heavier, with nipples point downward.

What makes breasts more beautiful?

As you can see, there are a bunch of different shapes and forms, but most women strive for;

  1. A harmonious appearance.
  2. Good fullness
  3. A round shape
  4. And a not too pronounced nipple that should point upwards under an angle of 20 degrees.

If we look at the breast as a whole from the highest point where they separate from our torso to the lowest visual point, we can express in percentages the distribution of breast tissue to visualize what we now consider the ideal shape. It is important to note that just like styles, breast preferences change over time. What was popular 20–30 years ago, probably isn’t as desirable today. Tissue distribution of 45% at the upper part and 55% at the bottom part of the breast is considered to be the preferred ratio to make the breasts look attractive.

There is also a theory that divides the Female chest into 1/3 in the upper part and 2/3 in the lower part as perfect. Of course, all of these factors depend not only on what your body shape is but also on what your personal preferences are.

What size is a Beautiful Breast?

We have already noted that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

In a study by Scientists at Prague’s Charles University conducted among men from four different cultures (Brazil, Cameroon, Czech Republic, Namibia) it was concluded that “Individual preferences for breast size were variable but the majority of raters preferred medium-sized, followed by large-sized breasts“. It is clear that breast size is not as important as we thought, and that the first factor in determining breast attractiveness is actually the shape. Of course, the shape of the breast itself also depends on personal preferences, needs and taste.

What About The Nipple?

Just like with breast shape and size, there are many theories about what makes a perfect nipple. When people talk about the nipple in an aesthetic sense, they also talk about the areola, the area around the nipple (top) itself.

Nipples and areola can be of various sizes, colours, prominence, directions, and positions in almost all breast areas. In addition to having an important function in motherhood, the nipple can completely determine the appearance of your breasts.

The average areola size is around 4 cm, and is usually 3 times smaller than the breast, and at the same time three times larger than the nipple it surrounds. The size, colour, and shape of the areola and nipple vary from person to person. Darker areolas and nipples are more common in some ethnicities, but not exclusively, as they are also possible in lighter-skinned people.

Certain medical conditions such as pregnancy can greatly change the appearance, and especially the colour of the nipple, and this phenomenon occurs among all people. After pregnancy, the nipple and areola almost completely regain their natural colour. Also with the ageing process itself, your nipple and areola will gradually change colour, most often from lighter to darker tones.

Your breasts, and especially your nipples, are most often the first indicator of changes caused by breast diseases. That is why it is very important to regularly perform self-examinations in order to notice any changes in time.

Is It Possible To Change Nipple/Areola Color?

Sudden changes, especially the darkening of the nipples, can be the result of various factors such as contraception, menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, as well as more serious diseases such as cancer. Most women aspire to lighter nipple colours as they believe it gives the breasts a more youthful and fresh look.

There are various ways to achieve a lighter nipple and areola colour, and most are related to consuming certain foods like almonds, vitamin c, milk, honey, and fruits and vegetables. Topical whitening creams can also provide somewhat good results. However, we do not recommend their use before consulting your doctor. In some cases, the combination of these creams and lasers can achieve satisfactory results.
