The Narrow Highway

I can’t believe I used to have to get up my courage to do this

but pain can be a great teacher

what random acts of kindness

missed

Beyond the horizon of pure joy

every single thing that could be said

was said

without speaking a word

Without boundary, surrendering the enigma

running before the wave

and at last, exhausted,

falling asleep in the early morning

on the table

in a rest area

along the highway

Sleepwalking back again

the blue water

and sky

of your new

tattoo
