Deepa Malik(A Big Inspiration)

A sportsperson named as Deepa Malik born on 30th September 1970 in Sonipat, Haryana but lived in Gurgaon.

1) First woman to win a medal at the Paralympics games

She is the first Indian woman to win a silver medal in the paralympic games. She has been awarded this medal in 2016 in the shotput in Summer Paralympics. She is also honoured with the Arjuna award in 2012 and Padma Shri award in 2017.and Padma Shri award in 2017.

2) Deepa Malik- 20 years struggle

She has spent 20 years of her life in a wheelchair as she was diagnosed with spinal tumor and paralysed from her waist down. She has gone through 31 operations and 183 stitches as she don’t lose hope and always tried to become healthy as soon.

She has gone through a lot of surgeries but still she has the courage and confidence that she became the whole country’s inspiration.

3) Deepa Malik- An allrounder

Deepa Malik is not only a shot put or javelin thrower, she is also a part of the swimming and motor wrestling games. Actually, she firstly highlighted from his swimming talent only.

She is also the first physically challenged person to receive license by FMSCI (The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs Of India). In short, sportsmanship is a very big key to forget your disabilities and move on with your abilities and skills. A person does not need to have a good strength or some talent or inbuilt skills.

A person only needs to be passionate towards his goals. Deepa Malik has proved that only passion towards your interests or goals may give you a success and reach your goals.

Deepa Malik is not only a sportsperson, she is also a good entrepreneur and has been running her business of catering for a few years. For the youth, she also works as a motivational speaker and writer and do some social works.

4) Swimming and MotorBike

Deepa Malik has also a very big interest in swimming and motor biking. She also participated in swimming and bike riding and there also made Limca Book Of World Records 2 times.

Because of her love in biking, she also get associated with Himalayan Motorsports Association and FMSCI and became the first physically challenged person to receive the license of FMSCI to participate in the rally events.

She also participated in the Raid de Himalayas, world’s toughest car rally and covered 1700 kms with a height of 18000 feet.

5) Records and Awards

Deepa Malik has registered her name twice in the Limca Book Of World Records in the game of motorbiking. Her achievements are countless as she is the inspiration of so many disabled and physically challenged persons but if these achievements are counted in awards and medals then it is also in a very big number.

She has won 23 international medals and 51 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals in national and state levels. License by FMSCI is also counted in the achievements. She is also one of the oldest people who got Arjuna award.

6) Deepa Malik- Most Inspiring Woman

Deepa Malik has not only won gold medals but also has a golden heart as she runs campaigns for the old and disabled people. She knows the pain of being disabled and she overcome that pain with her great passion and energy.

Deepa Malik was also honoured with Khel Ratna Award by the president Ram Nath Kovind and she became the first Indian para athlete to receive the Khel Ratna award.

Her life is fully dedicated to the country as her father Retd. Colonel BK Nagpal is a retired military man and husband Colonel Vikram Singh is also in a military man.

Deepa Malik is a true inspiration to all who are physically disabled, not only to disable one but to every person who is becoming hopeless. Deepa Malik gives a new hope for facing every tough situations in the life and moving towards the goal without stopping and most importantly not to loose your passion.

Mostly, disabled persons curses the situations, curses the god and always cries for their disabilities but Deepa Malik accepted this challenge of life and passionately move towards her goal.

She also can easily curse situations and the god but she chose to live and face every difficulty coming her way and when she starts she closed all the doors of giving up.

She is an unstoppable woman as she not only play a single sport, she plays discus throw, javelin throw, shot put, swimming, biking,etc. Beyond all these she also runs a catering business and a very good entrepreneur.
