Don’t throw sand over my eyes. On the burkini ban and European cruelty

I read about this yesterday and was appalled. I posted the article showing the woman being fined by one policeman, and ordered to remove the burka part of her clothing by two others (I did not see them stripping her), while other French beach-goers watched.
I went through a batch of images of other costumed women accepted on beaches (at least here in the US): nuns, Amish, Geishas, Indians in saris, and so on, and posted them with the article. What on earth are the French thinking?! Looking at the “burkini” I could see no way she could have been hiding anything harmful… just ridiculous, racist fear in their part. Fear never wins. Hate eventually loses… but what horrid, unnecessary damage along the way!
