So, the much-awaited weekend is finally here, and your favourite TV show is about to begin. But as you get seated on the comfy couch with your morning coffee, suddenly the television screen goes pitch black.

However, before you go red with frustration and lose all hope, there are a few handy TV Repair tips that you could employ to get your device working in no time. Keep reading to know more.

1. Check the power button: Before reaching any assumption, the first and foremost thing that you must do is verify if your television is in ‘ON’ mode.

Once confirmed, check if it is set to correct input — A TV connected to the incorrect source will flash only black screen even if is in ON mode. You could easily check this by placing the remote next to the TV and hitting a button, and see if that changes the screen.

In case nothing happens, change the input source and repeat the process. If it still doesn’t resolve the issue, try another method explained in point no 2.

2. Ensure that the remote is in working order: Next thing that you can attempt is trying to switch ON your TV directly instead of using remote control. If there is problem with remote, you will not be able to switch on the television, even though the tv is very much in working order. If this turns out to be your problem, try interchanging your remote batteries, or buy a replacement.

3. Check the Television Cord and plug: It could also be so that your TV got suddenly unplugged, which is why it stopped functioning.

You might have moved something around, and the wire unexpectedly came off, or your fur baby decided to play with your TV cord which loosened the connectivity.

Get yourself to the wall outlet and check if there is a firm connection between the power cable and the TV. Try to unplug both ends of the wire while you’re there and merely plug them back in — Sometimes, all you need is to reset the cables in the name of TV Repair, and things get back to normal.

4. Check wall outlet: If you are still having a hard time turning your television ON, check the wall outlet.

You could try plugging your TV into another electrical outlet to see if that resolves the issue. Or, unplug the television set and plug in some other device into the same socket to see if the latter is getting power or not. In case you discover that your TV works perfectly well through an alternative outlet, or the device plugged into the current socket doesn’t function, you have isolated the problem.

In the meantime, continue to use your TV via other socket and get the problematic one repaired.

In case, none of these tips could bring your TV set back to the working state; there’s a strong possibility of major complications. Under such conditions, it is strongly recommended to schedule a TV Repair appointment with the professional technicians to resolve the issue.
