Why are we living?
This is a great question to start with. I used to always question this as I hadn’t known yet what my PURPOSE on Earth was yet. I was a kid trying to grow as a teen into a young adult.
Nothing really mattered. It was all about school and doing the traditional things that I’ve always been told. I wasn’t really aware of anything else.
It wasn’t until the Summer of this year, 2024, where I really found out who I am. I turned 19 and was slowly starting to see myself actually grow. Things that I did the past years didn’t seem to matter as much if they had no purpose attached to them. Everything I was doing was building upon a SKILL or a LESSON even if I wasn’t trying to.
Around October I got very close with Jesus and started to follow Christianity. This was the greatest decision I have ever made, hands down. It’s not even close. Not only do I feel love and peace from the Man up above, but I also found a new way of thinking through His teachings. My MINDSET became my purpose.
My whole life, I’ve been running in a giant circle just waiting to get to an exit. JESUS was my exit.
So, for the 19.5 years that I’ve been alive, I found my purpose within the last six months that consist of Jesus, Skills, Lessons, Mindset, and Purpose. That last being the reason I’m writing all these articles. To help and lift others.
Everyone is different and it takes time to really really understand it. It’s not just the surface level like appearance, but it’s digging in deep to understand why each and every one of us is made the way we were. The way you are now, is not forever. There’s time to grow. Find your purpose.
Why right now?
Ever wonder why you were put into the situation you were in at that very moment? Why were those people around you at that specific time.
Simple…It has a reason.
Every breath and step you take has a purpose to it. Could be as simple as that step is a lesson to not take things for granted or the millions of steps to complete a run to help raise money for a cause.
Never say never to any opportunity that is laid in front of you. I heard this really great quote from a podcast I was watching at work. I can’t remember exactly where it was from, but it went like this…
“When you say yes to something, you are saying no to everything else in that moment of time.”
Powerful.
Say for example you have a few options at 5 pm on a Friday. Let’s set the scene first.
You’re a Junior at a business school with two finals coming up that next Monday. Both classes you need to get a 75 or above in, in order to keep your gpa for your academic scholarship.
You could go out to the bar and drink with friends. You could go hang out in someone else’s place and watch sports. You could play video games with friends. You could actually set up a plan for studying for the weekend.
Let’s say you choose to go hang out with your friends at their place. You said ‘yes’ to this estimated 2 hours of time. Everything else you could have been doing is now a ‘no’.
This is very easily avoidable though. TIME MANAGEMENT.
You could do all of these things in one night, but make sure it’s in the order that you can do what you have to do.
Don’t go to the bar first and drink a lot. You more than likely won’t have enough time to make that plan for yourself. Do the plan first for an hour or so and then go enjoy yourself.
All of this leads back to the main question. Why right now?
The EXPERIENCES and CHALLENGES that you go through NOW, will only benefit you for the FUTURE. The challenge may be tough and negative, but it will always end good. Always. One way or another.
Think of other Why’s within your life now. Explore yourself. Be who you want to be. Be present. It takes that first step to walk a mile.
