You make a lot of great points here. I would like to mention that the system we have today is not even true capitalism. True capitalism would be a free-market system of primarily small, locally based businesses accountable to their communities that engage in healthy competition with each other to provide products and increased value to consumers. The system we have today is a bastardization of capitalism that is the result of a severe lack of oversight over many years. In many industries, there has been a great deal of consolidation into relatively few monstrous corporations that are able to band together to form virtual monopolies. This is a disastrous system that is designed to self-destruct as it runs out of resources to consume and impoverishes too many of their potential consumers. We must also remember that Communism was born out of the failures of capitalism gone wild (like we have today).
