I think it’s wrong what the French police are doing, but I think the atrocities that occur in countries practicing Sharia law are far worse and demand more attention. When Muslim women in Iran are no longer stoned to death for infidelity and their genitals are no longer mutilated at birth, my scale will shift. Only then will I consider the cruelty of police forcing a woman to remove one (of several) layers.
