I want to be a Goozoper.

Hello, Sai. Hello, friends, family, and acquaintances. Hello, everyone who is reading this. I’m Tanupriya Chaubey— social media fanatic, search engine marketer and a digital advocate.
So, what happened last night is that I got a reply from Gozoop (The coolest Digital Marketing Firm in Mumbai) for a mail I had written asking for a job at the big place. Well, Miss Sai had listed some questions in the mail he wanted me to answer. I completed writing a reply to the mail. When I looked at the reply, it occurred to me that it lacked the most important thing required for the position I was applying for. My reply was informative, Everything looked good, I had answered all the questions in the best way that I could, however it was not creative. It was just a series of Q&A’s. So, I decided to write it as a post. Give it some protagonists, conflict, an arc. And here I am, writing this post to let you know how much I want the position of Social Media Executive at Gozoop. To be Honest, I could even answer this question in mere 140 characters (check it out). But I would not want you to know Gozoop, Digital Marketing and more importantly Tanu in just 140 characters. I want you to know how great Gozoop is and how awesome Gozoopers are. I want you to know why I love digital marketing so much and I want you to know how awesome I am ;)
To answer the first question, which is-
What do you love the most about the profile you are applying for?
Well, this profile caters to both my strengths and my passions. This position offers the opportunity to exercise the abilities and instincts I already have, as well as the opportunity to continually improve. Digital Marketing is limitless. Period. Is there any need to mention the opportunities this position offers. You get to know great people, learn lots of stuff, get an insight into various fields and aspects of work, its hell cool, I would get to do what I love the most, its a mix of many things, you can always do and learn new things, no two days would ever be the same when into digital marketing, there is so much from SEO, SMO, Social, Blogging, Website Development to Branding and what not to learn about. Digital Marketing is just too darn fun and I am not saying this based on some observation, I am saying this because I live it and I love everyday of it. The opportunity to work with one of the greatest team and great mentors is simply too incredible to resist.
Why Gozoop and how would you contribute in making us the Best?
In the words of Gozoop, I could get to do what I love the most, learn new things, solve complex marketing mysteries and communicate insights to others. No two days will ever the same, would never stop learning and get to meet lots of amazing people. Because each Gozooper is a digital entrepreneur and not just and employee.
To answer the second part of the question, you would have to bear with me, because there is just so much I would like to tell about myself. First of all, I love digital marketing and not just that but I am really good at digital marketing. And if I’m at my best, Gozoop gains the reward of my efforts.
I have a marketing background coupled with a search obsession, tech knowledge and a knack for social media. I have an appreciation for the technology that came before me, a comprehensive understanding of what has been developed in my lifetime, and an enthusiasm for the advancements yet to come. In the ever-evolving world of web , very morning is a new opportunity to learn, to better myself and my expertise. I cannot possibly imagine a position better suited to me than this. This is the dream. I have the confidence, the curiosity, the charisma and more importantly the hunger for learning and success.
I dont believe in degrees or experience, I believe in passion and I have always stood by this and proved how learning and passion could beat degrees and years of experience. Within just 4 months I doubled up the conversion rate of my clients. Without any experience I helped 3 of the small businesses to establish their presence online. I might not have years of experience but what I lack in years and salaried experience, I make up for in talent, enthusiasm, and relevant coursework. I am not saying I never fail. I fail, I fall, I break down but I always get up, and I always chase my destinations. I love challenges. And I realize that good things dont happen very easily and I like this fact. Infact, I dont want a job based on a garden resume and a short interview. and so, to answer your 6th question…..
Would you be comfortable working on a test assignment before we catch up for an interview?
Well, what is the assignment and when do I get to know about it. [thats,if I manage to get it :)]
How is your experience with your current organisation and what are your reasons to look out for opportunities?
Okay, so currently I am freelancing and learning a lot of things and I am just loving it. Its an amazing experience, I have two projects on hand and am working on it. At the same time, I am learning website designing, I like to learn with practice so I am designing websites for some small businesses. Talking more about my work and experience, I have always been into marketing and communications. Its not a very long time as I completed my graduation only in 2015 and so have been into the field full time for only about 8 months. However, my connect with this field is beyond work. Even while at college, I did internships, became a part of marketing team for fests and events, took up part time jobs and did freelancing, be it for friends, family or on a professional level, thanks to freelancing websites and facebook. Yes, facebook could get business to even an amateur if shout and reach is strategic.
I graduated from St. Xaviers in 2015, I simply took up the first job offer I came across for a digital marketing position. Joined the company immediately two days after college completion. Other than the SEO Executive position, an open work culture and a knowledgeable, helpful, mentor was the reason Russsh appealed so much to me. This might sound cliched, but I believe in honesty, transparency and I value truth. Russsh shared the thoughts. I could in no words explain how great russshers are at work and off work. I always admire the way people at Russh worked and how the clients loved their way of working. It was great working with Russsh though I had to quit the job in a brief time period of 4 months because of a leg injury. It made travelling very difficult for me at the time. On a positive note, it happened to be a break for good as I got time to learn new concepts meet up people from the niche and grow my network. Meanwhile I kept working on freelancing projects and honing my skills.
After recovery I joined Nevpro as an SEO consultant, on a condition to double up their online conversion, which I successfully did and increased the conversion rate by 240 percent. While I was at Nevpro, I realized that a career in digital marketing with a digital agency, specifically — suited me. I like to work for multiple projects with strict deadlines and challenging milestones.
I didn’t want the monotony of simple daily goals for a single website; I wanted something inconsistent, something chaotic. I’d always worked best under pressure. And most importantly, I wanted to work with an organization that paralleled my own ethics. I wanted the opportunity to exercise my versatility in an environment where my ambition could thrive and this is the reason I want to work at Gozoop. I decided to quit because I dint want to settle for some easy-going good-paying job, I want to be the best, work for the best and learn the best.
What is it that you expect from your next employer?
Here’s the list :
- Awesomeness
- Awesomeness
- Awesomeness
- Awesomeness
- Awesomeness……….
I know I can tick off all these points as Gozoop is synonymous with awesomeness. Other than this I want to work for an employer who would not mind teaching me and helping me improve my knowledge. I expect honesty and transparency with the employees and the clients. I expect to learn how to make campaigns like ‘Zombie Keel’, ‘Parag Milk’, ‘Dhamaal’ and many more a huge success. I believe, Work should encourage learning, growth, and challenges.
Well, thats it, I hope I have answered most of the questions.
Well, dont get me wrong here, I am not writing this only because I wanted to apply for the position in a unique style. I did, actually, but that certainly is not the only reason that I am writing this post. I am writing this because this is what my job demands and because I want to. Isn’t this what social media is about. Instead of traditional way I decided to write this post and promote it because thats what I would be doing that my job. Rather than some conventional resume I thought I would present myself this way.
I realize how difficult the standard procedure makes it for HR’s to hire a candidate. I like to show my skills and expertise. I like challenges, and goals and deadlines. You know that like every other person I would say that I am a hard working, sincere candidate having good knowledge and job expertise. That I’m confident to do my best and prove to be an asset to your company. I would like to keep off from doing that. Instead I would do what I am best at, I would successfully combine my intuitions and experiences about search marketing with my knowledge of marketing techniques to generate significant buzz about this. As a user, I understand that effective digital marketing strategies create conversations, not just content. A good social media plan doesn’t wait for a user to comment before acknowledging them — it invites them in. It cares about what you have to say. It’s a friendly face you want to hear from every day. It’s consistent. It’s engaging. It’s empowering.
A social media strategy that focuses on individuals — both in the organization itself and among its users — fosters an environment of respect.
It creates connections. And that’s what will make those users invest their time, money, and brand loyalty in the brands.
The point of social media is to involve, and so a successful social media strategy requires that you be involved, wholly and thoroughly invested,
in order to achieve measurable results. While working at call centers, one thing I learnt was that you cannot sell a thing to random people boasting about its qualities. Why would people even listen to you if what you are doing is is simply throwing your product at them. But they would watch a certainly watch a movie or read a story if in that you have them portrayed in it. I would do that and so would you. They would trust the characters that are like them, they would listen to you and to other people like you if you can understand them, relate to them and help them like humans and friends and people and not salesmen, marketers or robots designed for a particular tasks.
Its easy to make one like and or choose a brand if the brand has a human touch. I’m passionate about as digital marketing as much as I am about people and learning. I called to be a silent spectator of the ongoing everyday ho-hum around me, I like to observe how people react and to what they react. It is not only a business for me to reach out to people through various channels and keep experimenting to find new ways to develop relations with audiences.
Digital Marketing has been a crucial component of my entire existence or say virtual existence. I had always considered myself more inclined towards programming until I became a part of the marketing department for a festival at my college. It was only then that I realized how good I was with people and how effectively I could convert people into prospects. That fired up a desire in me to learn more about marketing. I did lot of research and learning, started connecting the lines between various techniques and marketing developments. I read many blogs, wrote to many marketing leaders and was lucky enough to get answers for some of my questions in form of responses from many bloggers and marketing experts. Ultimately I completed graduation, and got placed at a super awesome company and had a great mentor and team that motivated me, taught me and appreciated my work at the same time.
Social media has been the backdrop for so many of my memories and between all of these different mediums, each and every memory was carefully documented, providing me with the ability to be permanently nostalgic.
I need to be constantly connected to my acquaintances and my experiences because I’ve never known any other way. But beyond my emotional attachment to digital, I know you want a candidate who knows their way around these platforms. And I can bet you that I am one. I believe in results.
I have a strong background in marketing, because no amount of web-savvy can provide the particular knowledge necessary to best utilize social media. No matter how familiar with or active on new media platforms a user may be, because the grammar of these platforms is every bit instinctual. You dont simply need content but you need compelling content, suited for the platforms and made with keeping in mind the technicalities. And more than that, you need findability. Because, what good is compelling content and slick marketing copy if no one is ever going to find it? Search and Social media go hand in hand that is why I have strengthen these two cores. I know Gozoop has the best creative team. With so many successful campaigns and a strong social presence, its indubitable. With all due respect, I see that despite being one of the best digital agencies in India, Gozoop has not established its presence in search for top ranking keywords for digital agencies. I’d love to see it rank higher and grow.
I understand the search mechanism and social platforms. I have expertise in using various tools to monitor and analyze these platforms and the results to use these tools to effectively and appropriately market brands and products.
I created SEO and content strategy for Russsh. I also helped a clothing retailer integrate Facebook and Twitter feeds into their marketing plan in order to facilitate time-sensitive content updates to their website. And while at Nevpro, I created a comprehensive social media campaign, utilizing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other sites to encourage or B2B sales and conversions and exceeded targets getting leads from facebook as well apart from other B2B targetted platforms to help bolster the marketing plan.
It would mean the world to me to use these skills to work and grow with such a great company as Gozoop.
In case you are Sai Joshi…. Great I would love to get an interview call. Maybe you’re not Sai. That’s cool. Maybe you know somebody who knows somebody who knows him. If you’re impressed with what you’ve seen here, do me a favor — tell somebody. Tell your mother, tell your friends, tell your dog. Tell somebody who might tell somebody who might tell a Happiness Officer at Gozoop.
Finally coming on how to find me. In case you read this, liked it and decide to know me better, It’s Tanupriya Chaubey. Go ahead type it on google, you’ll find lots to dig through. I’m not embarrassed of anything you’ll find — I’m a real person, and I’m engaging on all of these platforms socially and professionally. I’m likely one of the only twenty-somethings you’ll meet who is comfortably Facebook friends with both her mother and her boss.
As a passion, I actively tune in to social platforms, personally and professionally to track changes, updates, and use it to my advantage. The majority of my recent activity is on Facebook and LinkedIn. I have a Google+ profile and know my way around just fine, but so far, I’m not impressed. I engage occasionally on. I randomly participate in discussions and forums. I love ‘Moz’ alot and check all the blogs published on moz. I am huge fan of ‘Rand Fishkin’ and never miss ‘whiteboard fridays’.
I’ve had a few personal blogs, but so far I haven’t found the time to update any of them frequently enough to make it worthwhile, so most of my blogging experience has been for organizations. I’m an active reader of a number of blogs, though (Mashable, Moz and Lifehacker are favorites), and I believe absorbing content on the web can be just as important as creating it. I have a personal website (www.tanupriya.website)and a blogspot where I have been writing a lot.
Lately I have found my profound love for medium and keep contributing to it. The thing that makes me a really spectacular candidate is that I simply can’t get enough. I will continue to learn the benefits and drawbacks of each new social platform as it becomes available, because let’s get real. This stuff is just plain neat.
