Yes, yes, yes. Great article! I love the idea of the Blockchain revolutionising the waste industry but that first human input damages the ability to bridge the “trust gap”. But the concept of oracles is an interesting one.
‘…oracles need to create trust redundancy’ — very true. The global waste industry dropped the ball and has been caught with its pants down. I don’t believe that, as a whole, the entire system can be trusted because nobody knows where all the waste came from or where it’s going.
But, and again this is just my relationship with the Blockchain, why do we need it? The industry doesn’t have a single centralised, untrustworthy database that will be fixed by a distributed, immutable ledger. Shouldn’t that be the first step?
Oracles to create trust redundancy though, that is a must.
